-No sale of alcohol on Sundays in some states -Illegality of abortion in some states -Illegality of gay marriage in some states -The drug war -Excuse for abusing our military power (god's will and all that bull****)
All of these are influenced by religion. I thought there was supposed to be a separation of church and state. Guess not. It's all based on Christianity too. If a school encouraged Christian ideals, nobody would have a problem with it. And yet, if a school encourages Muslim ideals, an angry mob would burn it to the ground. And you all know it's true.

Also I am not religious, but I am Pro-Life....so Pro-Life is not a religious issue, it's a moral issue however much you would like to frame it as such.

No one would blink over teaching the way of Islam. I personally think that all of the religions should be talked about in school so people can begin tondevrlope opinions about it. -DarkShadow

Teach evolution AND creationism and let students decide for themselves what they believe to be correct.

It's fine if you believe in creationism, it's you right...but keep it out of schools. Keep all religion out of schools. Creationism has no academical basis at all. That's what Sunday School is for, by the way....to learn about creationism and God.

However, there is nothing in the Constitution that disallows laws that are based on religious conscience, as long as the law itself is not unconstitutional. For example, a state can decide to ban alcohol sales on Sunday, but they cannot demand that all students participate in prayer in school.

You make an excellent point Domo, Sunday Schools are to teach the word of God. That is not the goal of public schools.
