www.theguardian.com/world/2013/aug/30/john-kerry-syria-attack-clear-evidence" The White House has indicated it does not believe it needs the backing of Congress, nor the support of traditional allies, before taking action against Assad." What happened to a government for the people and by the people? Does this bother anyone? How can we restore sanity to our government and give the power back to the people? Article 1, Section 1 of the constitution clearly states that Congress alone has the power to make laws. Later in the constitution it elaborates that states have direct control over their populace, while specifying what exactly Congress can legislate. The legislative branch holds all legislative power in the Federal Government. Not the Executive Branch, not the Judicial Branch.

I agree. The Executive Branch should not have the ability to entangle our country in an international conflict. Especially not one that is not a direct threat to the safety of the American people.
