Does anyone here enjoy playing strategy, especially German-style, board games? Some of my favorites are Agricola, Carcassonne, Puerto Rico, and Ticket to Ride.

Not sure what the others are. I do enjoy playing Monopoly. I enjoy the amount of logic that goes into a game like that, and how easy it is to make a small mistake that affects the entire game. I find that I win a lot because I, unlike some of my peers, look at the tiny details that need to be evaluated before making a purchase in that game. They often complain about the amount of time I take to think on my turn, but I normally turn out to win because of those extra seconds I used to think about my decision. I find other strategy games are of the "spontaneous strategy" genre.

It's fairly easy to tell who is going to win.

But I think I prefer games that even the playing field as much as possible when it comes to chance. Chance games test adaptability, but games like Puerto Rico and Agricola are almost purely a test of strategic skill.
